Big Bass Fishin
Big Bass Fishin looks simple at first glance, and in a way it is, but there's a nice rhythm hiding under the calm surface. You pick a spot, cast, and then wait for the tension meter to tell you when to reel. The controls are tap-and-hold, which sounds basic until a bigger fish fights back and you're feathering the reel to keep the line from snapping.
What surprised me most was how readable everything is. The water animation gives you subtle cues, and after a couple of sessions I stopped watching the meter and started reading the ripples instead. Different spots hold different fish, so there's a light exploration loop that keeps you moving around the map.
It's the kind of game I ended up opening between meetings. Nothing rushes you, sessions are short, and the sound design is genuinely soothing. If you want a chill sim that still rewards a bit of skill, this one earned its spot in the catalog.
